Purpose
Welcome to the world of construction! If you have decided on a career in the construction industry, you are joining the eight million Americans who have chosen a career in this lucrative field. Construction is one of the nations largest industries, offering excellent opportunities for high earnings, career advancement, and business ownership. The Prosperity Christian Resource and Community Housing Development Center, Construction Trades Education Program, is a construction training program for men and women who want to begin or advance their careers in the construction industry. It is also designed for contractors who wish to train their existing employees. There are many choices beyond high school. Sixty-Two percent of high school graduates do enroll in a college upon graduation. The other 38 percent (nearly 1,000,000 strong) get a job, join the U.S. Armed Forces, become volunteers or interns, go to a technical or vocational schools, or become apprentices. Non-college choices let you explore who you are, get valuable real-world training, and learn you about the world "out there" before you decide to pursue a formal education. Students enrolled in the Construction Trades Education Program at The Prosperity Center, learn about all of the major primary construction craft areas, including Carpentry, Construction Craft Laborer, Electrical Wiring, Facilities Maintenance, HVAC, Landscaping, Masonry, Painting, Plumbing, and Welding . Students who complete these programs gain valuable knowledge of a wide range of construction-related careers. Related Interests and Abilities The Construction Trades Education Program is ideal for students who enjoy working with tools and equipment and who are interested in construction. Students should be in good physical condition, possess reading, math and measurement skills, and be able to follow instructions and diagrams.
